Making Metal History
Coil coating first appeared in the 1940s, but its origins can be traced back to the architectural movements of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. At the time, steel was beginning to be used in construction and soon metal buildings were painted to beautify these structures. As demand increased, techniques and paints were developed that made metal pre-coating possible.
